So, I busted my ass yesterday morning to finish my chain and get everything buttoned up so I could make it to the track for the first time this season. I got out there, wasn't really sure on what pressure to start with on my tire (Power One), so I started at 22psi. Spun the first pass and went 9.08. So, I dropped it to 18psi, and still spun but went 8.87, so I knew I was getting closer. I dropped to 15psi, and it finally hooked and went 8.72@155. I was already happy cause I said this winter I would be happy with 8.70's but extremely happy with 8.60's. I knew 8.60's were there once I got comfortable.
The next 7 passes were all 8.70's. from 72-77. I think I was just gun shy from spinning, and was trying to just make a clean pass. I had a buddy take a video from behind me so I could see if my shock was working. I was a a quarter turn out from full hard on both compression and rebound per Lee (thanks Lee), it was definitely a good start. So I figured I would try another quarter turn out on compression and adjusted my clutch in one more notch so it bit right off the bar.
The next pass felt pretty damn good but I didn't think it went as quick as it did! It went 8.61@155! I really couldn't believe it went that quick on the first outing! Just to see if it was a fluke I went right back up and back it up with a 8.63@155!.
I figured I would just try to leave a little harder since the track was closing, but last pass it spun. I was still really happy with what it went with very basic mods. Its only going to get faster from here! (hopefully)
I still need to hook my pcv back up, tune it, hopefully get an air shifter, and maybe try the +2 on the rear. I was pissed when I got my 8.61 slip cause, apparently since they ran an 8th mile ride along pass right before me, they didn't fix it, and it only printed out from my 8th mile on. Thankfully, I just went up in the tower and took a picture of the print out sheet. So I at least got my whole slip. I'm just so damn happy right now!!!
